Over the years, we have found that local market statistics is a great source of information for both ourselves and our clients. They keep our insight into the local market current and can help our clients make decisions about the homes they are searching for in the area.
In April 2017, there was a total of 123 completed properties in the residential freehold market. This is down almost 23% from the 159 completions in April 2016. Of the completed homes in the Winnipeg area, 116 were sold in April 2017, down again from the year before.
There were 29 homes that sold for under $350,000, 32 homes that sold for a price between $350,000 and $399,999, 21 homes that sold for a price between $400,000 and $449,999, 10 homes that sold for a price between $450,000 and $499,999 and 13 homes that sold for more than $500,000. The proportion of homes that were sold in the two highest price ranges have flipped since this time last year, but the rest of the categories all received roughly the same percentage of home sales on a year to year basis.
